A few of my girlfriends and I took our girls to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo this week. It must have been obvious we were city slickers as we approached the entrance with our baby strollers, because we were greeted with a load "Howdy, you gals going to the rodeo? Do you need a map of the fairgrounds?" Okay, I admit none of us drove up in a double doully pick-up truck and most of the others entering at that time in the morning were obviously from out-of-town. They were there to take part in the livestock show, but the girls were dressed in their rodeo outfits and we were wearing our cowboy boots. So what if our cowboy boots were purchased at Nordstrom and are more for show than anything else. They are darn cute!
We usually go to the rodeo at least once every year, but this was my first trip to the carnival and kids' country. As with every other part of the rodeo, I wasn't disappointed and neither was Kariana. The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is top notch and it's all for a great cause -- the kids! Kariana especially enjoyed the petting zoo (pics below) and Miss Moo (the kids' country cow mascot) (pic above).
